BirthdayBridge is an iOS app developed by Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd that helps you remember and reach out to contacts on their birthdays, timed to their local timezone. This Privacy Policy explains what data BirthdayBridge collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.
BirthdayBridge is designed with privacy as a default. Your contact data never leaves your personal iCloud account. Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd does not operate any servers, does not receive your data, and does not have any visibility into the contacts or birthdays you store in the app.
When you import contacts from your iOS address book, BirthdayBridge reads and stores the following fields:
BirthdayBridge requests Full Access to your contacts. This is required because iOS Limited Access mode may exclude birthday data from the fields returned by the system. No contact data is transmitted to Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd or any third party.

BirthdayBridge includes an option to contact Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd for support or feedback. Tapping this option opens your device's default mail app with a pre-addressed draft to info@nebulousenterprises.com.au. No information is transmitted automatically. Any personal information included in a support email is provided voluntarily by you and is used solely to respond to your enquiry. Support correspondence is retained only for as long as needed to resolve the matter and is not shared with third parties.

These settings are stored in your device's local storage and App Group (shared with the BirthdayBridge widget). They are not transmitted to Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd.
BirthdayBridge uses the data described above solely to provide the app's core functionality:
Data is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the features described above.
All contact and birthday data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework, under the container iCloud.NebulousEnterprises.BirthdayBridge. This container belongs to you — Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd has no access to its contents.
iCloud sync is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy. If you do not have iCloud enabled, data is stored locally on your device only.
App preferences and widget data are stored locally in your device's UserDefaults storage and App Group container. This data does not leave your device.
BirthdayBridge does not share your data with any third party. Specifically:
When you send a birthday message, BirthdayBridge opens iMessage, WhatsApp, or your email client with a pre-filled message. The act of sending is performed entirely within those apps and is governed by their respective privacy policies. BirthdayBridge does not transmit message content.
BirthdayBridge requests Full Access to your iOS Contacts to read names, birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. This permission is requested only when you first attempt to import contacts — never on app launch. If you deny this permission, you can still add contacts manually within the app.
Contact data is used only within BirthdayBridge and stored only on your device and in your personal iCloud account.
BirthdayBridge requests permission to send local notifications in order to deliver birthday reminders at the computed notification time. This permission is requested when you first save a contact with a timezone set. If denied, the app continues to function but birthday reminders will not be delivered.
BirthdayBridge uses Background App Refresh to reschedule notifications annually, ensuring they fire at the correct time each year. If Background App Refresh is disabled, notifications are rescheduled when you next open the app.
BirthdayBridge does not request access to your device's location. Timezone detection uses the postal address already stored in your contacts, processed entirely on-device using Apple's CLGeocoder framework.
BirthdayBridge retains data for as long as you use the app. Because Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd holds no copy of your data, deletion is entirely within your control:
Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd cannot action data deletion requests on your behalf because we do not hold or have access to your data.
BirthdayBridge is not directed at children under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us using the details below and we will take appropriate steps.
Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd (ABN 13 634 749 509) is committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained therein.
This Privacy Policy sets out how Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd manages personal information collected through BirthdayBridge. It is publicly available at the URL provided in the App Store listing.
BirthdayBridge collects only the personal information reasonably necessary to deliver its core functionality: birthday reminders timed to a contact's local timezone. Personal information is collected directly from your iOS address book with your explicit consent, or entered manually by you within the app. No personal information is collected without your knowledge or from third-party sources.
This Privacy Policy serves as the notification of collection required under APP 5. It identifies the types of personal information collected, the purposes for collection, and how individuals may access, correct, or request deletion of their information. The policy is accessible from within the app and via the App Store listing before download.
Personal information collected by BirthdayBridge is used only for the primary purpose for which it was collected: delivering birthday reminders and enabling you to send birthday messages. It is not disclosed to third parties, used for direct marketing, or used for any secondary purpose without your consent.
Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd does not use personal information collected through BirthdayBridge for direct marketing purposes.
Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd does not disclose personal information to overseas recipients. All data remains on your device and within your personal iCloud account, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy. Apple may store iCloud data on infrastructure located outside Australia; this is governed by your agreement with Apple and their Privacy Policy, not by Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd.
Personal information is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework, which applies encryption at rest and in transit. Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd does not hold copies of your data and therefore cannot be subject to a data breach involving that data. If you believe your iCloud account has been compromised, contact Apple Support directly.
You can access and review all personal information held by BirthdayBridge directly within the app at any time. Because Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd does not hold a separate copy of your data, access requests should be directed to the app itself. Contact details in section 11 are available if you have questions about what is stored.
You can correct any personal information stored in BirthdayBridge at any time by editing the relevant contact within the app. Changes to the underlying iOS Contacts entry will also be reflected upon the next sync.
Nebulous Enterprises Pty Ltd may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated Effective Date at the top of this document. Continued use of BirthdayBridge after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
